Q&A with Meaghan Hastings

What value do you believe PurView delivers?

Purview delivers clarity and confidence in a process where accuracy matters.

In our industry, decisions are often made quickly, but they carry long-term financial impact. Having access to reliable property intelligence – from ownership and mortgage information to estimated values and market trends – allows us to validate key details, identify risks early and provide more informed, responsible advice.

What is your most-used data attribute on the PurView Property Report?

Estimated property value and historical data are frequently referenced to support conversations around equity, financing options and overall client strategy.

Title and mortgage registration details are also core to our process. Confirming ownership, reviewing existing charges and understanding lender positioning on title are critical steps in both refinance and purchase transactions. It allows us to validate information early and avoid surprises later in the process.

Tell us a bit about yourself, your current role, your path to this role and why you enjoy being a part of the mortgage industry.

I’m the CEO and Principal Broker of The Mortgage Coach, where I lead a high-performance brokerage focused on developing mortgage professionals and delivering an exceptional client experience.

I began my career as a mortgage specialist with one of the Big 6 banks before transitioning into the broker channel as a mortgage agent in 2008. Learning the business from the ground up – underwriting files, working directly with clients, and building my own book – shaped how I approach both leadership and client service today.

Over time, that experience evolved into building and scaling a brokerage centred on mentorship, structure and scalable, sustainable growth.

What I enjoy most about this industry is the opportunity to develop agents – helping them build confidence, refine their skillset and operate at a higher standard. When you combine strong fundamentals with the right tools and support, it elevates both the client experience and the trajectory of an agent’s career.
