Welcome to the latest edition of Pointers of the month, a blog that features quick training and video demos that will help you learn more about PurView.

Our Teranet Insighters members recently participated in a survey focused on difficult properties they’ve encountered in PurView. We heard that some users have difficulty locating properties in Western Canada located on numbered streets, which we are addressing in this blog!

Finding Difficult Properties in Numbered Streets

If you’ve found yourself searching for properties in Western Canada, then you may have come across some difficult properties which have led to inaccurate information and/or little to no property results being generated. For example, when searching for a property in Vancouver, British Columbia you may have had difficulty finding the correct property where the same street numbers are both on the East and West side of the street.

In order to successfully find the correct property, you will need to also include the city that the property is located in within the search bar to further refine your search results. In the example mentioned above, be sure to include the City name (Vancouver) and leave out East and West within the search field. You may find two identical addresses will be listed in the results, from there you can identify the appropriate address based on the Personal Identification Description (PID) which is provided in the description column of the results page.
